this wine shows bell pepper, white peppercorn, and lush cranberry. it is an

incredibly interesting and easy-dirnking wine at a steal of a price.

Zestos / Garnacha & Tempranillo |  Madrid, Spain / 2010 / 13.5% ABV

bright and fruity, this wine smells of bing cherry and cola.  it is medium bodied

and has some expressive ripe purple fruits on the palate.

Vidigal “dao” / Jaen, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro |

portugal / 2010 / 13% ABV

Dry wines from Portugal can be hard to come across, but it’s a treat the first time you look

past port. This wine is medium-bodied and juicy, with cherry and raspberry flavors that feature

lip-smacking spice notes. Violet and chocolate mark the finish.  An excellent value!

Stefano Chioccioli is an award winning winemaker and is tremendous at creating unique

Italian wines at affordable prices.  peppery red fruits and bright acidity are balanced with

Mediterranean herbs and polished tannins in this true gem of a wine.

Munte Vinu / Feteasca Neagra | transylvania, romania / 2010 / 13% abv

yes ladies and gents…..this wine is from romania! It reminds me a good bit of

american merlot, with its lush dark fruit, raisin, and vanilla notes.  It finishes

very dry with hints of black pepper and smoke.

Block Nine / Pinot Noir |  California / 2009 / 13.1% ABV

bright black cherry and baking spices are predominant in this classic american

pinot noir. Strawberry and over-ripe raspberries round out this medium bodied pinot.

Leese-Fitch / Merlot  |  California / 2010 / 13.5% ABV

A fruit forward merlot with blackberry and raisin on the nose. medium-bodied

with soft tannins, this wine is sure to please any merlot lover.

Poppy / Cabernet Sauvignon  |  Paso Robles, California / 2009 / 13.5% ABV

This royal purple-colored Cabernet is easy drinking and yet exciting.  It has a nose of

berry pie, cedar, and vanilla and a Full-bodied and lush palate with great tannin structure.

RICARDO Santos / Malbec |  Mendoza, Aregentina / 2009 / 13.9% ABV

The deep purple color of this wine is reflective of the Cassis and dark plum flavors on the palate.

Earthy and spicy lavender and black pepper notes meld well with hints of French Oak.

Pianello / Corvina, Merlot, & Cabernet | Veneto, Italy /2008 / 13.5%

this wine is bright and spicy with an excellent tannin structure. A bit of Cabernet Sauvignon

and Merlot are blended in, which rounds out this wine with flavors of cherry, cacao, and clove.

CUNE RIOJA / TEMPRANILLO | RIOJA, SPAIN / 2008 / 13%

This is a super traditional Rioja that spends 12 months aging in barrels as well as 12 months

in the bottle prior to being released. Expert subtle red fruits, white pepper, and aggressive tannin.

Moobuzz / Pinot Noir | Monterey, California / 2009 / 13.9% ABV

Dried cherries and strawberry jam are well-balanced with a bright and expressive acidity.

light in body, but full in flavor; though the name is silly, the wine is seriously good!

Ch. Roc Meynard / Merlot & Cab. Franc | Bordeaux, France / 2009 / 14%

2009 has been a massively celebrated vintage for Bordeaux.  So much so, it has been a bit hard

to find affordable gems such as this!  Dried cherries, cocoa nib, and herbs all meld into a

beautiful palate.  Light bodied, but still showing tannin structure, a perfect accompaniment to …anything.

Massolino / Dolcetto |  Serralunga D’Alba, Italy / 2008 / 13.5% ABV

Dolcetto is a lovely and light bodied wine from the Piedmont, Italy.  This example has red cherry flavors

with herbaceousness and balanced ripe acidity.  This wine is sure to please any Italian wine lover!

Casal Garcia / Loueiro  |  Vinho Verde, Portugal / 2011 / 10% ABV

An athens summer classic, this slightly sparkling wine is reminiscent of a meyer lemon

spritzer on your mom’s front porch.  Enjoy any time of day with or without company.

Riff / Pinot Grigio | Veneto, italy / 2010 / 12% ABV

Very Light bodied and easy drinking , this wine shows flavors of

peach, apricot, and a bit of lemon. Excellent with and without food.

Ipsum / Verdejo & Viura | Rueda, Spain / 2009 / 12.5% ABV

this wine is bright and expressive with cantelope, grapefruit and a touch of banana

flavors. It is beautifully balanced and light, perfection at the end (or the middle!) of a long day.

Marquis Phillips “Roogle” / Riesling | Australia / 2010 / 9.5% ABV

This australian gem is medium-sweet and light bodied with granny smith apple and sweet

apricot notes.  Proof that the Aussies can grow riesling too!

Domaine De Ballade / Sauvignon Blanc & Colombard

Gascony, France / 2010 / 12% ABV

Sauvignon Blanc flourishes in this little known region in southwest France. As is

traditional, this wine has a dominant minerality backed up with grapefruit and lemon flavors.

The 30% Colombard that is blended in provides some beautifulround melon notes and body.

A truly spectacular wine.

Clos de nouys / Chenin Blanc, Demi Sec

Vouvray, Loire Valley, France / 2009 / 12.5% ABV

This rare style of the chenin blanc grape is often over-looked, but never should be.

slightly sweet, but not at all cloying, this wine smells of honeysuckle and gardenia and has a

wonderful palate of honeyed apricot and melon. A crisp minerality and clean finish

balance this suburb summer wine.

Domaine de Bernier / Chardonnay | France / 2008 / 13.5% ABV

This is a beautifully balanced French chardonnay.  The use of oak is metered

and well-balanced with expressive tropical fruit flavors and a bit

of acidity.  Expect vanilla, peach, and pineapple.  It’s an excellent pairing with the

heavier soups and stews of winter.

Mil Piedras / Viognier  |  Mendoza, Argentina / 2009 / 13% ABV

Though Viognier is traditionally French, this impressive example comes from sustainably

farmed vineyards in Argentina.  It is floral aromatic on the nose with a palate of peach,

apricot and lime. An excellent introduction to one of the most interesting varietals around.

monchiero / Arneis | langhe, Italy /2010 / 12.5%

Arnieis is a wonderful white wine from my favorite wine region.  It shows apple and

lemon on the nose, and has a round body and full almond-y finish.  I’m a sucker for

full-bodied wines with understated palates beacuse they’re good on any occasion!

Saint-Hilaire / Mauzac  |  Blanquette de Limoux, France / NV /

hailing from the world’s oldest sparkling wine region, the saint-hilaire is a

true gem.  Lychee, orange rind, and sourdough bread on the palate.
