Domaine De Ballade / Sauvignon Blanc & Colombard

Sauvignon Blanc flourishes in this little known region in southwest France. As is

traditional, this wine has a dominant minerality backed up with grapefruit and lemon flavors.

The 30% Colombard that is blended in provides some beautifulround melon notes and body.

A truly spectacular wine.

Kuentz-Bas “Alsace Blanc”/ Sylvaner, Auxerrois, Chasselas, & Muscat

The Kuentz family has been making wine in Alsace for over 200 years now, and

they consistently make wonderful wines.  This wine is a spectacular value as it hails

from some of the most coveted land in France.  This gem smells of peach, apricot,

and a bit of wet limestone.  Expect stone fruit and green apple on the palate followed

by a surprisingly dry finish.

Clos de nouys / Chenin Blanc, Demi Sec

Vouvray, Loire Valley, France / 2009 / 12.5% ABV Glass 8 / Bottle 28  (1/2 pour 5)

This rare style of the chenin blanc grape is often over-looked, but never should be.

slightly sweet, but not at all cloying, this wine smells of honeysuckle and gardenia and has a

wonderful palate of honeyed apricot and melon. A crisp minerality and clean finish

balance this suburb summer wine.

Domaine de Bernier / Chardonnay | Loire Valley, France / 2008 / 13.5% ABV

Glass 8 / Botle 28 (short pour 5)

This is a beautifully balanced French chardonnay.  The use of oak is metered

and well-balanced with expressive tropical fruit flavors and a bit

of acidity.Expect vanilla, peach, and pineapple.  It’s an excellent pairing with the

heavier soups and stews of winter.

Mil Piedras / Viognier  |  Mendoza, Argentina / 2009 / 13% ABV      Glass 8 / Bottle 28 (1/2 pour 5)

Though Viognier is traditionally French, this impressive example comes from sustainably

farmed vineyards in Argentina.  It is floral aromatic on the nose with a palate of peach,

apricot and lime. An excellent introduction to one of the most interesting varietals around.

Amarte Mas / Albarino  |  Rias Baxias, Spain / 2010 / 13 % ABV

Albarino is a stunning varietal indigenous to the coast of Spain just north of Portugal.

This wine is round and beautiful with tropical fruit favors like kiwi, papaya, and star fruit.

It is full bodied without any oak-aging making it perfect for any number light dishes or just sipping!

An athens summer classic, this slightly sparkling wine is reminiscent of a

meyer lemon spritzer on your mom’s front porch.  Enjoy any time of day

bright and fruity, this wine smells of bing cherry and cola.  it is medium bodied and has

some expressive ripe purple fruits on the palate.  the lush red fruit flavors of tempranillo

are masterfully blended with the subtle structure and tannin of garnacha.

Coltibuono Chianti / Sangiovese  |  Chianti, Italy / 2009 / 12.5% ABV

Chianti is widely considered one of the premier wine growing regions in the

world. peppery red fruits and bright acidity make this wine very well-balanced.

this lovely wine is a truly elegant example of cabernet in california.  Dark fruit flavors

are restrained and well-balanced by an excellent use of oak. Expect fresh blueberries, vanilla, and cocoa nib.

Altocedro / Malbec  |  La Consulta, Mendoza, Aregentina / 2009 / 14.4% ABV

from the world’s premier malbec-growing region, this wine shows off how both powerful and also

austere malbec can be.  It has a beautiful deep purple color reflective of the dark plum, black cherry,

and blackberry pie flavors on the palate.  Full-bodied and perfectly oaked in new french oak barrels,

this wine will not disappoint any red wine lover.

Rojo Mojo / Shiraz  |  La Mancha, Spain / 2010 / 13.5% ABV Glass  9 / Bottle 32  (1/2 Pour 5.5)

This stunning spanish shiraz is both structured and soft.  It is medium bodied, but bursting with red fruit flavor.  Strawberries and plums dominate the palate and the finish is a little spicy.  An excellent choice for anyone wanting to enjoy a glass of wine, no food necessary.

Fire Block / Grenache | Clare valley, Australia / 2005 / 14.5% ABV   Glass  9 / Bottle 32  (1/2 Pour 5.5)

with flavors of prune, raisin and Fig, this wine’s dry fruit palate is reflected in its brick red color.

Though this wine is supprisingly light-bodied the grenache has plenty of room to display some coffee and

cacao powder notes devolpeed over 6 years of bottle age.  Lovely on its own or paired with the veggie reuben.

Pianello Rosso / Corvina, Merlot, & Cabernet Sauvignon    Veneto, Italy /2008 / 13.5% ABV

Corvina is a varitetal that grows beautifully in the Veneto in Italy.  It is bright and spicy with

an execellent tannin structure.  There’s a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blended in,

which rounds out this beautiful Italian gem with flavors of cherry, cacao, and clove.

Chateau Roc Meynard / Merlot & Cab. Franc  |  Bordeaux, France / 2009 / 14%

2009 has been a massively celebrated vintage for Bordeaux.  So much so, it has been a bit hard

to find affordable gems such as this!  Dried cherries, cocoa nib, and herbs all coalesce into

a beautiful palate.  Light bodied, but still showing tannin structure, this wine is a steal

at the price and a perfect accompaniment to …anything.

Marquis Phillips “S9” / Shiraz | McLaren Vale, Australia / 2007 / 14.8 % ABV

Australian Shiraz is often under-estimated, but this stunning wine demonstrates the depth of flavor and intense complexity that shiraz can bare.  This wine is a mouthful of blackberry pie, fresh strawberries and pomegranate molasses.  These flavors are deepened by notes of black pepper, rosemary and tobacco. Excellent on it’s own or with red meats of all varieties.

Massolino / Dolcetto |  Serralunga D’Alba, Italy / 2008 / 13.5% ABV

Dolcetto is a lovely and light bodied wine from the Piedmont, Italy.  This example

has red cherry flavors with some herbaceousness and balanced ripe acidity.  Bright

and balanced, this wine is sure to please any Italian wine lover!
